Welcome to My Theopoetic Journey!

Hello!

My name is Rob. Welcome to my theopoetic journey!

You may be asking what I mean by “theopoetic,” and that’s a natural question.

By theopoetic, I mean pertaining to the term theopoetics. Theopoetics is a discipline based on the combination of the Greek words for “god” (theo) and “to make” (poeisis). Loosely speaking, theopoetics concerns the intersection of God and our bodily practices.

Of course, that’s not entirely what theopoetics involves. That may not even be correct when we get down to it.

But that’s what I’m exploring on this page.

Come along with me as I explore the intersections of art, philosophy, theology, craft, and writing. Join me as I attempt to engage with God through metaphor, story, myth, legend, image, icon, and parable.

Hopefully, what I find will help you in your journey, too!
